I became a teacher because I truly believe education changes lives. Children need someone who sees their potential, speaks life into them, and creates a safe space where they feel valued and capable. I wanted to be that person. Teaching allows me to shape not only academic growth but also confidence, character, and resilience.Especially in the early years, I’ve seen how powerful it is when a child finally understands a concept, learns to regulate their emotions, or realizes they can do something

Tell us about your most memorable teaching experience

One of my most memorable teaching experiences was watching a student who struggled at the beginning of the year completely transform by the end. This student came into my classroom shy, easily frustrated, and academically behind their peers. They often said, “I can’t do it,” before even trying. Instead of focusing only on the academics, I focused on building trust, confidence, and a safe space where mistakes were okay. We celebrated small wins recognizing letters, completing tasks independently

What would you do with the $25,000?

If awarded the $25,000, I would use the funds to create lasting, meaningful change for my students academically, socially, and emotionally. , I would ensure that every dollar creates sustainable impact. The resources purchased would serve not just one class, but many groups of students for years to come. My goal would be to build a classroom environment where students feel safe, inspired, supported, and challenged to reach their full potential.
