Tell us why you became a teacher

I became a teacher because God has given me a passion for children. Also, teachers were some of the most influential people in my life growing up. I hope to make that kind of an impact on children's lives as well someday.

Tell us about your most memorable teaching experience

My most memorable teaching experiences are when students come back and say that still have the cards of encouragement that I gave them years later. I write my students personal cards every year before the STAAR testing to remind them that they are more than test scores and encourage them to believe in themselves.

What would you do with the $25,000?

I would help pay off my son's medical debt. My 15 year old son has Common Variable Immunodeficiency. He requires igg infusions weekly and has had numerous surgeries and hospital stays throughout his life. $25,000 would be such a blessing to our family.
