I love to see when the lightbulb finally lights up in my students brains and they grasp the science concept I’m trying to teach. It’s magic!

I became a teacher because I truly love being in the classroom. It’s where my passion and strengths come together. I enjoy building relationships with students and constantly finding creative, engaging ways to make learning meaningful and enjoyable. Seeing students grow in confidence and understanding is what motivates me every day. Teaching isn’t just something I’m good at—it’s something that genuinely fulfills me.
Tell us about your most memorable teaching experienceMy most memorable moments aren’t big events—they’re the interactions with students. The ones who ask, “When will we learn chemistry?” while sitting in our chemistry unit. The ones who make me laugh without trying. And especially the ones who come back years later to say they want to become teachers because of me. Those conversations, both hilarious and heartfelt, are what stay with me the most.
What would you do with the $25,000?With $25,000, I’d be practical and purposeful. In life, I’d set aside college funds for my boys, giving them opportunities and reducing their financial stress in the future. In the classroom, I’d finally solve the greatest mystery of education—where all the pencils go. I’d stock up on supplies, invest in engaging lab materials, and create even more hands-on experiences for my students.
