I love that I can help build enthusiasm for learning and their questions/conversations that form. I also love providing them the tools they need to be successful in life by teaching to the whole child. I enjoy getting to know my student's on an individual level. Teaching developmentally appropriate concepts through play & using hands-on activities stirs my soul.
Tell us about your most memorable teaching experienceThere are so many wonderful memories & experiences while teaching from student's individual achievements to class-wide experiences. A memory that stands out for me, inspired from my cultural experiences during my first years of teaching, would be my lesson on the Lunar New Year. We read Red is a Dragon, watch educational videos about the culture, celebration & dragon/lion dance, create our own dragons together, parade through our school with instruments & custom made dragons, & eat long noodles.
What would you do with the $25,000?Like every committed teacher, a portion would be used for desperately needed improvements and materials that will spark interest and excitement in my student's learning experience. On a personal level, I would put some money towards the purchase of a future home. Another portion would be placed into a savings account to plan for future endeavors.
