Tell us why you became a teacher

I became a teacher because I wanted to make a difference. No one in my family is an educator. I have always been drawn to teaching since I was five. I idolized my teachers growing up and I wanted to be as smart as them.

Tell us about your most memorable teaching experience

My most memorable teaching moment was when I was teaching at a continuation high school. I had a student who was doing so well and I wanted to share that with his parents. I had called and spoke to his mom. She then called her son and told him that they needed to speak with him when he got home because his teacher called. He was so scared he didn't go home! Once he did, his parents took him out to dinner because they were so proud of him.

What would you do with the $25,000?

With the 25,000 I would love to travel and see more places, experience different cultures.
