Tell us why you became a teacher

I became a teacher because I wanted to pour into children like someone poured into me as a child. Seeing students’ faces light up when they finally understand something is deeply rewarding, and it fuels my passion for helping children. Teaching also allows me to nurture creativity and encourage students to think beyond traditional boundaries. For me, teaching is more than a profession, it is an act of service and a calling that brings fulfillment as I inspire young minds.

Tell us about your most memorable teaching experience

My most memorable moment is when working with a student for weeks watching him finally learn to read. Both he and I showed joy in our eyes. A visitor just so happened to see the joy and gave me a book and on the inside of the book encouraged me to keep teaching because of moments like this.

What would you do with the $25,000?

If I had $25,000 I would begin a scholarship fund for students wanting to further their education as well as start my own tutoring business that would invest in students and help close gaps for students to become confident, motivated, independent, and successful in the classroom.
