Tell us why you became a teacher

I became a teacher to help, guide, and be a good leader to every young individual that needs guidance in any shape or form. I’m here to not only teach them academically but let them know that you can come to me for help and a listening ear.

Tell us about your most memorable teaching experience

I have many but my memorable teacher moment is when a student actually raced others students to ask me to walk them down for teacher appreciation. Another one is when, I get many students asking me to adopt them and they are needing to get away from home or when a student tells me “you’re the best teacher I’ve ever had.”

What would you do with the $25,000?

For one, pay off a small amount of debt where I’m able to control it because we know teachers don’t make much and I’m a single full time parent to three kids. Also, give back to my parents who adopted me in their late 60s when they didn’t have to start over and raise their children kids but they did. They have done so much for me and I know money isn’t enough, but they deserve something. It’s the thought that counts and to show them that I’m grateful for them.
