Band opened opportunities for me when I was in school. It gave me a family and a way to be apart of something greater than myself. I was able to excel academically to be able to participate. I was able to grow as an arranger and a composer of my own music. The skill set I learned opened up doors to get scholarships to go to college. That inspired me to get my degree in music education so that I can give the next generation to get the same opportunities.
Tell us about your most memorable teaching experienceMy most memorable experiences happens every year when I see my students graduate and get scholarships. When they get to be apart of honor bands and play at local and state competitions. When I see growth in the areas of leadership and musicianship.
What would you do with the $25,000?I would take care of my family first and foremost. Invest into my kids future, give back to my school community and save money.
