I’ve taught math and AVID since 2003, helping students build confidence, skills, and belief in their future every single day.

I didn't know what I wanted to be. I wanted to not be poor anymore. I will say I thought pre med and all the ideas are wrong. My dad is the one after my first day of orientation that I was a teacher. I tell my kids everyday, you will make money of you are passionate about what you do. Do something that makes you happy.
Tell us about your most memorable teaching experienceThere is so many. It's my goal to have my students to go into the trade, military, 4 year university. Give. them the opportunities they never thought and did it. I had a student speak in front of 4000 teachers on how she has overcome all obstacles and now is in a elite fashion design program at NC State.
What would you do with the $25,000?I would get new tables and chairs for my classroom. Get curriculum and supplies for my students. I would use it to pay for college applications for students.
