Tell us why you became a teacher

I became a teacher because I have always believed in the power of growth. I truly believe that every child can improve and succeed when they are given the right support, structure, and encouragement. Teaching allows me to nurture, guide, and build confidence in young learners, especially in reading, which opens so many doors for their future. I love creating organized systems and meaningful lessons that help my students understand big ideas and feel proud of their progress.

Tell us about your most memorable teaching experience

One of my most memorable teaching moments was watching a struggling reader gain confidence. At the start of the year, they doubted themselves and avoided participation. Through small steps, encouragement, and consistent support, they began to grow. The day they raised their hand and confidently explained their answer with evidence, I saw true pride in their eyes. That moment reminded me that teaching is about building belief, not just skills.

What would you do with the $25,000?

If I had $25,000, I would invest it wisely in both my classroom and my future. I would upgrade my classroom library with high-interest books at different reading levels, purchase flexible seating and organizational tools to better support my students, and provide enrichment materials that make learning engaging and meaningful. I would also set aside a portion to continue my education and strengthen my long-term career goals. If possible, I’d reserve a little for travel and rest — maybe a cruise
