I love teaching because even though the days are long I know I'm changing lives by making things better for my student and my community.

I became a teacher because education was the first class that got me excited about learning. In college, started as an environmental sci major, then switched to ag business. I wasn't really happy or excited about any of my classes. I tried an education class and my life changed. I knew then that I had found my calling!
Tell us about your most memorable teaching experienceI took on a long term sub class full of students with "labels". I did what I knew to do and that class excelled, all of them. I was asked to stay on for the next school year. I asked the principal if I could keep all of my the students. He thought I was insane. 😄 I told him to trust me. He did and by the time the year was over the long list of things everyone said my students would never do had all been checked off. Labels- click delete! They believed in themselves and I did too.
What would you do with the $25,000?I will use the 25k to buy sensory items for my special education classroom's sensory room, a deer blind for my family and the rest will go to my children's college funds.
