It really wasn’t part of the plan. I was a junior in college before I realized that becoming a lawyer was not what I wanted. I took an intro to teaching class and was honestly surprised that I found teaching so fulfilling. I called my mother and told her I was changing majors. She was speechless but supportive.
Tell us about your most memorable teaching experienceI think the first time I realized I was truly reaching kids and making a difference will stick with me forever. I was leaving my student teaching position and the kids wrote me notes. One said “ Some kids think you are mean because you make them behave, but I like you because you make sure we learn”.
What would you do with the $25,000?My house has never been finished and I would love to use 25,000 to complete it. I started building in 1998 but unfortunately a series of events have kept me from finishing certain projects that have now become ridiculously expensive and a struggle to complete in the extremely rural area I live in.
