I became a teacher because I believe it’s the most impactful, most direct way to make the world a more magical place. I was also inspired by life-changing teachers, directors and coaches throughout my life. Because my parents were both teachers, I’d often “play school” with their old classroom supplies. I’ve always imagined myself as a teacher.

My most memorable teaching experience is watching the growth of the students I have for several years in my program. Students enter as unsure, timid freshmen, and leave as individuals with poise, confidence, and a sense of identity. The process is beautiful and inspiring to witness. It’s magical!

I would begin by using the funds to support our award-winning Drama program by purchasing a new spotlight for my classroom theater. My students have been wanting one, and I’d love to see what magic they use it to create on stage. Of course, I’d also visit my favorite place in the world to continue getting the magical inspiration that propels me through every day - the Disney Parks!
