Tell us why you became a teacher

I became a teacher because of the time I spent volunteering in classrooms during high school. From the very first day, I felt drawn to the students' energy and curiosity. I loved helping them with their work, reading alongside them, and seeing their confidence grow. What truly inspired me was watching the spark ignite in their eyes when something finally clicked, when a word made sense, a math problem came together, or they discovered a new idea.

Tell us about your most memorable teaching experience

One of my most memorable teaching experiences was working with a child learning English as their second language. At first, he was quiet and hesitant, often unsure of themselves during reading time. We practiced every day. Sounding out letters, repeating simple words, and celebrating every small success along the way. Then one day, everything clicked. He read a grade-level book all on their own, smoothly and confidently. I'll never forget that smile on his face.

What would you do with the $25,000?

If I received $25,000 for my kindergarten classroom, I would invest in hands-on STEM materials like building sets, beginner robotics kits, science tools, and interactive math centers to spark curiosity and problem-solving. These additions would create an inclusive, innovative space where students can explore, create, and grow.
