Teaching has always been something I wanted to do since I was a kid. I had amazing teachers growing up and I wanted to be that light too!

Since I was in 3rd grade I have wanted to be a teacher. My mother was a special education teacher so I lived and breathed school. My 3rd grade teacher was one of the best and helped me realize my full potential. She used my strengths of wanting to help others which eventually led to my dream of wanting to do that for a career.
Tell us about your most memorable teaching experienceMy first year teaching 4 years ago was my most memorable year. I was just learning how to run a classroom and manage the many things a teacher must endure. I had a student who was known as someone who could be rather difficult. That year I formed a relationship with this student which helped turn things around. School for this student was no longer just a requirement, he actually enjoyed coming. He is now in fifth grade and I love to see how much he has grown in the past 3 years.
What would you do with the $25,000?My dreams of becoming a teacher was not a cheap path. I will pay off some of my undergrad loans. I am also starting my masters this coming year, so this will also help pay to further my knowledge. My passion is reading and writing so I also have a cart full of books and stuffed animals that go with the book. These are not cheap, but it is such a fun and creative way to teach all of the many rules we have in the English language.
