I love fostering a love of learning in my students and teaching them to believe in themselves, set goals, and spread kindness.

I was inspired to become a teacher from my own teachers who believed in me. I’ve pictured myself in this role since elementary school and always knew it was my calling. Additionally, my older brother has Aspergers and had a really hard time in school. This motivated me to become a teacher to give students the support they need to reach their full potential.
Tell us about your most memorable teaching experienceI don’t think the most memorable part of my career is one single moment, but rather a culmination of moments that prove I’m where I’m meant to be. I’ve seen my fifth graders set and conquer goals. When I taught autistic support, I got to witness my nonverbal student start to use verbal language. I had students come to my room not knowing their ABCs and leave independently reading. I’ve watched my students grow, achieve, and learn, and in the end, that’s the most memorable part of my job.
What would you do with the $25,000?I would love to pay off my student loans and start a family with my husband!
