Tell us why you became a teacher

I became a teacher because I believe education is a gift that has the power to transform lives. Guiding young people and sharing knowledge and wisdom is an honor. I want my students to see their limitless potential and to inspire them to dream big and move with confidence. Teaching allows me to help shape strong and courageous leaders who will uplift their communities and the world.

Tell us about your most memorable teaching experience

One of my most memorable teaching moments was realizing that my students, ages 3-6, were truly absorbing the lessons I shared with them. Through movement, language, and play, they began repeating the vocabulary and actions we practiced together. Watching their confidence grow as they remembered and expressed what they learned reminded me that we have the power to impact the smallest minds and in that moment, I saw the power of teaching come to life.

What would you do with the $25,000?

If awarded the $25,000, I would take a major step toward establishing a permanent Black Box Theater for young, thriving artists in my community. This space would be a cultural hub where artists can learn, create, perform, while gaining confidence and mentorship in the arts. My vision is to build a space where creativity thrives, voices are amplified, and the next generation is empowered.
