I became a teacher because I’ve always loved helping people. Growing up, I was very shy and often felt like I lived in the shadows, but something changed when I was around little kids! I felt confident, joyful, and myself. I loved playing school with my siblings, pretending to teach and organize lessons. Teaching gives me purpose, lets me uplift others, and allows me to be the person I needed when I was younger.

One of my most memorable teaching experiences was watching a student who struggled academically and lacked confidence finally believe in themselves. After months of small wins, encouragement, and consistency, they proudly raised their hand to read aloud for the first time. The class applauded, and I saw their confidence grow instantly. That moment reminded me that teaching is not just about academics, but about helping students see their own potential.

If I won $25,000, I would invest a portion back into my classroom by purchasing new books, hands-on learning materials, and resources that help create a welcoming, engaging environment for my students. I would also use part of it toward professional development so I can continue growing as an educator. The remaining amount would go towards a down payment on a house, helping me build long-term stability and a strong foundation for my future.
