Tell us why you became a teacher

I was studying physics when I got a job substitute teacher. I fell in love with being in the classroom, and for me teaching high school physics allowed me to pursue both passions!

Tell us about your most memorable teaching experience

This is my first year teaching high school, but my most memorable moment so far was when the students got to participate in an egg drop challenge. It’s a fairly simple and classic activity, but the students were SO excited and proud of themselves, which was incredible to witness, especially in classes of students who had written off science and scientific thinking as too difficult.

What would you do with the $25,000?

I’d pay towards my student loan debt. I’m so grateful for how much my family has helped with them thus far, but it shouldn’t be their responsibility to keep helping me.
