Tell us why you became a teacher

I became a teacher because I wanted a career that is as rewarding as it is dynamic. Growing up in a supportive school system, I was shaped by educators who viewed my potential as limitless. My goal is to pay that experience forward, creating an inclusive environment where students feel seen and inspired. I don't just want to teach a curriculum, I aim to spark a lifelong curiosity in my students.

Tell us about your most memorable teaching experience

Leading my middle schoolers to an agriculture career showcase was a defining experience. Managing a large group in a high energy, off site environment sharpened my ability to balance logistics with student interest. Witnessing that "spark" where a student begins to see a future for themselves was incredibly rewarding. This experience showed me the importance of real world exposure and reminded me that my role is to help students discover the possibilities awaiting them after graduation.

What would you do with the $25,000?

This reward would transform my classroom into THE hub for discovery. I plan to invest in modern science lab equipment as well as transformative experiences that go beyond the four walls of our classroom. Furthermore, I would dedicate funds to my own continued education and research. An empowered teacher creates empowered students. By expanding my own knowledge, I can bring the latest and greatest scientific insights and teaching strategies directly back to my classroom for years to come.
