I became a teacher so that I had the possibility of being that person that influenced a young person to achieve their goals. I became a teacher to inspire youth to have goals and to give them guidance on what they need to do to achieve them. Why I became a teacher extends so much further than any curriculum, it is to help students become the best versions of whatever they want themselves to be. I became a teacher to develop the best everythings that I can, to make the future a better place.

Tell us about your most memorable teaching experience

I was working one on one with a student who was struggling with a difficult concept and after numerous practice attempts, they were finally able to figure out the concept and became able to successfully do it on their own every time. The student then thanked me for taking the time to help them and thanked me for not letting them give up. It was an amazing feeling to help them achieve the goal they had set for themselves and just as amazing to feel appreciated for the guidance that I had given.

What would you do with the $25,000?

I would use the money to help pay down some of mine and my family’s debts. I would then use it to provide some upgrades needed to our home. The final thing that I would do with the moneys would be to use it to enroll into a master’s program and continue my education in order to help me become better in my career and be a better resource for the students that I attempt to inspire.
