Tell us why you became a teacher

I became a teacher because I believe in the power of education to change lives. I love watching children grow in confidence as they learn to read, write, and think for themselves. Being part of those “aha” moments is incredibly rewarding. I want to create a safe, joyful classroom where every child feels valued, capable, and excited to learn each day.

Tell us about your most memorable teaching experience

One of my most memorable teaching moments was watching a struggling reader finally read a book aloud with confidence. After weeks of practice, he looked up at me with the biggest smile and said, “I did it!” The class quietly clapped, and you could see his pride shining. In that moment, I was reminded why I teach—because small victories can change how a child sees themselves forever.

What would you do with the $25,000?

With $25,000, I would invest in my classroom by adding diverse books, hands-on learning materials, flexible seating, and funding special field trips for my students. I’d also use some of the money personally to support my family, plan a meaningful vacation to make memories together, and set aside savings for the future. It would be a gift that blesses both my students and my home.
