I became a speech language pathologist so that I could help others learn how to communicate, and have fun while doing it! There are so many different ways to communicate other than words. I also love showing those around us how to be kind and the importance of inclusion.
Tell us about your most memorable teaching experienceWhen one of my nonverbal little guys with cerebral palsy and autism started communicating in phrases with his communication device! Before that, he was not interested in expressing his wants and needs or starting a conversation or answering questions. No one knew just how smart he was until he got his device 😍
What would you do with the $25,000?Put it towards my much needed new vehicle (which I use to drive all over the place seeing early intervention children in their homes-and to drive to see my new grandbaby!).
