Tell us why you became a teacher

I became a PE teacher because working with kids has always been part of who I am. Growing up in a big African American family, I learned the power of mentorship, teamwork, and showing up for others. Through running summer camps and coaching football, I saw how sports and positive guidance can shape confidence, character, and dreams. Teaching lets me make that impact every day.

Tell us about your most memorable teaching experience

One of my most memorable teaching moments as an elementary PE teacher was watching a student who never saw themself as athletic make their first basketball shot. The smile, pride, and confidence on their face said everything. In that moment, it wasn’t about sports, it was about believing in themselves and realizing they were capable of more than they thought.

What would you do with the $25,000?

If I won the $25,000, I would use it to support my family. As a married father of two young children, ages 1 and 3, I would pay down bills, add to our savings, and invest in my children’s future. This financial stability would reduce stress and allow me to focus fully on being a present parent, husband, and dedicated educator.
