Tell us why you became a teacher

It actually wasn’t my first choice! I never thought I was cut out for teaching, but i was diagnosed with a rare form of blood cancer after just turning 22 and that changed everything! I found a teachers aide job at my local head start, and right now I am only my final exam away from taking over my class as the head teacher!!

Tell us about your most memorable teaching experience

Recently we have started the Box Study in my classroom and a lot of my parents don’t have the money for dinner.. let alone a vacation so we found an old toy mailbox and every Tuesday we open it and there is a package from somewhere around the world! We learn about the country from the wildlife to the foods they eat and we get them snacks from that country to try! At the end we learn how to say hello and stamp their “passport”. The kids love it! They are always so excited for mail day!

What would you do with the $25,000?

First if god blessed me with the money i would have to bless someone else… Either donating to my local community action program or directly to the children's home! Secondly id try to get a car or just use the money to pay bills!
