I became a teacher because I was inspired by those who taught me. They created a space where I could think freely, grow confidently, and believe in myself. Their impact shaped me, and because of that, I will always have the heart of a teacher and the soul of a lifelong learner.

Tell us about your most memorable teaching experience

One of my most memorable experiences was redirecting a scholar who needed extra attention. We started off on a rough note, with challenges in behavior and communication. However, I remained consistent each morning by greeting the student with positivity and respect. Over time, that simple act of acknowledgment began to make a difference. Being intentional about seeing the child, and allowing them to feel seen in return, slowly built trust.

What would you do with the $25,000?

I plan to give back to my school by helping provide new books, laptop repairs, and needed supplies. I also want to support community groups that need assistance. While I’ve focused mainly on serving others since I started working, investing in a few professional clothing items wouldn’t hurt. Overall, my goal is to support those who gave me the opportunity to build myself.
