Teaching is my passion! Students deserve safe, rigorous, and meaningful education. I want to be the person who inspires and motivates curiosity and excitement to learn and grow. We are all growing all the time! Teachers just help guide and direct.
Tell us about your most memorable teaching experienceI had a student who was going up to the local food distribution center to volunteer. The student was in need of food for their own household, but it provided dignity when she could volunteer to help others while she received help herself. That year I realized that teaching is about more than just providing knowledge of subjects. It’s about helping students feel secure in the community. As a teacher, I help provide some basic necessities, but I also help prepare for life beyond the classroom.
What would you do with the $25,000?I would provide scholarships for students to do educational travel. I want my students to see what lies beyond our classroom. I want to feed their curiosity so that it will grow. I want to connect them with the world.
