I knew I wanted to become a teacher when I was performing in an animal show at an elementary school. I loved watching how excited the students would get when they learned something new about the animals we were showing them. It’s still like that to this day, only with literature.
Tell us about your most memorable teaching experienceI don’t think I can narrow my memorable experiences to just one. The experiences that keep me coming back and that fill my teaching soul, are when I am able to inspire a new reader or writer. When I meet a group of students who fall in love with the literature as much as I am in love with it, when they come to class and they teach me something new because they are inspired by what we are learning. This is why I still love teaching.
What would you do with the $25,000?I have three children in middle school and I would definitely put some of that money into savings for their college tuition. I would also buy some treats for my students to thank them for their hard work.
