I love teaching because I love watching children learn.Seeing my passion transfer to them is incredibly rewarding. The kids make my job fun!

I basically became a teacher because I got tired of “playing school” with my baby dolls and decided it was time for a real audience. Growing up as number 5 out of 7 kids, I spent a lot of time being told what to do—so naturally, I developed a passion for finally being the one in charge! But honestly, what keeps me in it is the magic of those unexpected teaching moments. There’s nothing better than seeing that lightbulb go on-that instant when everything clicks. It never gets old, it’s the best!
Tell us about your most memorable teaching experienceMy main goal is making children feel safe, loved, and truly seen. One moment that stays with me is noticing a child wasn’t himself and sharing that concern with his family. Days later, he was diagnosed with a terminal brain tumor and passed within months. I visited him often. Teaching isn’t just about academics—it’s about caring for the whole child.
What would you do with the $25,000?If I had $25,000, I’d take two dream trips—Bermuda to finally confirm the sand really is pink, and a lighthouse stay in Sitka, Alaska to live my best “isolated but peaceful” life. After that, I’d responsibly put the rest toward retirement… because apparently future me needs to be considered too!
