I have always dreamed of being a teacher. I used to teach my stuffed animals when I was in kindergarten. I’ve always loved the school setting as I felt like and still do feel like it’s a second home to me. It has always been a safe place for me to learn and become the person I was dreaming to be. Now I get to create that same environment for the new generation of kiddos🌟

Tell us about your most memorable teaching experience

One of my favorite teaching moments happened just this year. I have a student that came in needing additional reading help learning to decode words. I taught this student’s mother back in 2006. It’s very rewarding to see the children of the children I‘ve already helped succeed. It’s such an amazing feeling to know that I was able to help facilitate someone’s development in the world two generations deep. Very often I even know three generations. My TBI has me additional insight to teaching❤️‍🩹

What would you do with the $25,000?

I would use this money to help pay for my son’s college. Some of this money would find its way back to the students that I work with. Some of this money would become part of the volunteer service that I do within the healing the community as well. I’m a Reiki Master and volunteer healing sessions at the Old Dutch Church; I have volunteered at the OMEGA Institute for cancer patients; and I still offer healing sessions.
