Tell us why you became a teacher

I became a teacher because I wanted to make a difference in children’s lives. I believe every child deserves to feel loved, capable, and important. Teaching allows me to encourage curiosity, build confidence, and celebrate small victories. Helping students grow academically and emotionally is my greatest joy, and I’m honored to be part of their journey every day.

Tell us about your most memorable teaching experience

One of my most memorable teaching moments was watching a student who struggled all year finally read a sentence on their own. The pride on their face and the excitement in the room were unforgettable. In that moment, I was reminded that teaching isn’t about how fast students learn, but about never giving up on them. That small victory meant everything to both of us.

What would you do with the $25,000?

I would use the $25,000 to invest directly into my classroom and students. I would purchase hands-on learning materials, books for diverse classroom libraries, and resources that support literacy and social-emotional growth. I would also create engaging learning spaces that inspire curiosity and confidence, ensuring every child has the tools and experiences they need to thrive.
