Tell us why you became a teacher

I became a teacher for two reasons. The first reason is my love and admiration for children. The second reason was because my baby brother and I often struggled in school. I saw teachers 'give up' and not know how to better support us in class, so I was often helping him at home. I never wanted a child to feel that way at school, in class, or in general.

Tell us about your most memorable teaching experience

My most memorable teacher moment is when I was able to establish a safe bond with a difficult student, and once this happened, the student began to make strong effort on any and all tasks, trusted me to be there and support them, and ultimately increased their self worth/confidence which was priceless to see.

What would you do with the $25,000?

I would use the $25,000 to provide my current classes with more opportunities to explore their inquiries and to provide them more meaningful supplies to create their projects, experiments, and curiosities! I would also share with my colleagues to provide opportunities to our school campus!
