Tell us why you became a teacher

I became a teacher to gently share the joy this world needs. Working with nonspeaking autistic kindergarteners has shown me how powerful quiet progress can be. I’ve always loved helping children feel safe, seen, and truly heard. Being trusted with their small steps, big feelings, and growing confidence is something I hold close to my heart.

Tell us about your most memorable teaching experience

One of the greatest gifts of my job is watching my students reach their goals and seeing the progress they make from year to year. Because I have the same children for up to three years, I get to witness growth that others might miss which is the small steps that turn into big milestones. I see their confidence build, their communication expand, and their personalities shine. Walking alongside them for that long is something I treasure deeply.

What would you do with the $25,000?

This kind of support would be truly life-changing for me and my family. I pour my whole heart into my classroom, and I often give more than I can afford because I want my students to have everything they need. Being able to provide meaningful materials without that financial weight would lift so much off my shoulders. I would also be able to start the next chapter with my husband and begin building the family we dream of.
