Tell us why you became a teacher

I became a teacher because I have always believed that the earliest years of a child’s life matter the most. In those little hands, big personalities, and even bigger emotions, I see endless potential. Teaching isn’t just what I do — it’s who I am. I feel called to create a safe, loving, and joyful space where children can learn, grow, and truly be themselves. Those “small” victories are actually huge milestones. I became a teacher because I want to be the person cheering the loudest for them!

Tell us about your most memorable teaching experience

Currently, my most memorable moment in teaching wasn’t during a big event or performance, it happened during a simple small group activity. We were building a snowman using the letters of each child’s name. One of my students, who usually struggled with confidence and often looked to me for help before even trying, carefully picked up each letter and quietly began placing them in order. I held my breath, he placed them perfectly. When he finished he looked up at me said “I did it by myself!”

What would you do with the $25,000?

If I were fortunate enough to win $25,000, I would invest in my children’s college funds, pay off debt, and work toward building a home for my family. I would also enhance my classroom with engaging resources for my students and support fellow educators. Most importantly, I would share this blessing with my paraprofessional—my right hand—who I couldn’t do this job without.
