Tell us why you became a teacher

I became a teacher by accident. I accidentally obtained an associates in education wheel getting my bachelors in business. While in school, I worked at a daycare having my own class and students, only to fall in love with it and now getting a double masters for elementary and sped education.

Tell us about your most memorable teaching experience

Having a student that when his body hit the door, he lit up with excitement and told me that he looks forward to coming to school every day because he knew he was safe, loved and heard. That day, my decision was made to continue to teach and be there for my students (new and old).

What would you do with the $25,000?

I would use this money to help pay off student loans, and hopefully set aside some for my sister. Our father passed away very quick and early after being diagnosed with dementia. Life for my sister and my mom has been hard in all of the ways. I would like to make things a little easier for them both.
