I looked up to my teachers when I was a child. I wanted to be just like them. I used to play school with my stuffed animals and make attendance rosters. I would call off the “students” names while completing attendance. I truly feel being a teacher was my calling and I can’t imagine having been anything else the last thirteen years.

Tell us about your most memorable teaching experience

Every year has its own favorite memories. The students themselves are the most memorable experience. They take a piece of my heart with them when they leave each year and hopefully they know I am an adult that is always in their corner.

What would you do with the $25,000?

Of course we all know, we do not become teachers for the salary. I would start by paying off my car and completing a few small home repairs that are needed. I would like to be able to take my kids on a vacation or save up for something we might need. I would even like to open savings accounts for my children’s college expenses.
