Tell us why you became a teacher

I wanted to share my love of learning with others. I know school is challenging for students, whether it is academics, bullying, socializing, or balanced school and home life. I wanted to be there to help share the excitement of learning and education with all students who need or want it.

Tell us about your most memorable teaching experience

My most favorable memory teaching was when I was teaching a science lesson my first year about water pollution. We were watching news reels about the oil spill in the gulf. This was the first time my students were actually engaged and wanted to know more about the pollution and what happened to the people and animals. We researched facts about the oil spill the entire class. Later that day, my students were telling the P.E. Teacher about what we learned and how fun it was!

What would you do with the $25,000?

I am currently saving to buy a house for myself. I would use this money to put a down payment on a house closer to school. This would be my first home and a positive change from the negative environment I am living in right now with my parents.
