I became a teacher because every child deserves someone who sees them, believes in them, and advocates for them. I feel called to stand in the gap for students who feel overlooked. Teaching lets me turn compassion into action and help kids build confidence and believe in their potential.
Tell us about your most memorable teaching experienceMy most memorable teaching moment was watching a struggling reader in my SPED classroom meet their goal after months of steady progress. What would you do with the $25,000?If I received $25,000, I would use it to build a sensory room accessible to all students in my school — a safe, supportive space where kids can regulate, reset, and return to learning ready to succeed. I would also invest in inclusive playground equipment so every child, regardless of ability, can play, connect, and feel like they truly belong.
