This is my 38th year and I still love teaching. Even though students all arrive with different levels and experiences, everyone can learn!

Learn MoreI became a teacher because I love solving problems, encouraging a growth mindset, and celebrating the Ah-hah moments. Every year brings a whole new group of children and an opportunity to develop a positive relationship. The goal is that they feel safe, loved, and take risks without worry! It is always sad to see a class leave but exciting to see new students arrive in the fall. I became a teacher because there is always something new to learn even at 38 years in.
Tell us about your most memorable teaching experienceMy most memorable moment in teaching is navigating the unknown during the Covid years. Some families were highly involved and others were difficult to connect with. Seeing their faces on zoom brought joy. I had a parent tell me if it wasn’t for me their child’s mental health would have been at risk.
What would you do with the $25,000?If I won the $25,000, I am really not sure what I would do! I think it would be great to be able to apply it toward reaching our financial goals quicker.
