Tell us why you became a teacher

I became a teacher to inspire youth, foster well-rounded growth, and create equitable, engaging classrooms where every child feels valued. My experiences showed me the power of supportive educators, and I strive to make learning meaningful and fun for all learners.

Tell us about your most memorable teaching experience

My most memorable experience was creating a Pre-K airplane to Hawaii, complete with tickets, baggage claim, and flight attendants, making learning immersive, inclusive, and joyful. Creating experiences to develop depth of knowledge for my students is my driving force.

What would you do with the $25,000?

Obviously, take a trip to Hawaii first, then probably be responsible and put towards savings and/or retirement while furnishing field based experiences for my students. Most teachers dread field trips but I love seeing the connections and learning come to life in the real world.
