I became a teacher by fate and have chosen to stay because of the amount it fills my bucket. Even now on spring break I think of what my kids are doing and what we’d be doing in school now. Being able to support and help these kids succeed is one of the most fulfilling things a human can do.
Tell us about your most memorable teaching experienceI would say my first year teaching as a long term substitute in 1st grade is the most memorable because it’s what got me into teaching to begin with. The memories and lessons shared that year is something that I hold dear to my heart. Playing spelling games like Sparkle, field days, under the sea themed party, SEL and realizing that it’s a profession that I was to continue doing because I know my positivity spreads so well.
What would you do with the $25,000?Honestly there would be a portion that goes to my snack fund. There is no way I could win money because of my profession and not give back in the way the kids love the most. But I would also spend it on my family. My husband and I are trying to create our own family after almost 5 years of marriage and deciding that it’s either now or never. Having the extra help to support our child and my children is always a win in my book.
