Tell us why you became a teacher

I became a teacher because I wanted to be part of something bigger—something good for kids. Teaching has always been in my life. My aunt taught kindergarten for 40 years, and helping in her classroom showed me early on what it meant to make a difference. Growing up around her, I knew one day I wanted to do the same and be a positive influence for children.

Tell us about your most memorable teaching experience

My most memorable teaching moments are when things just click and I can see I’m making a difference. One that stands out is having students recognize me from when I was a substitute. Hearing them remember our time together and the impact I had, even briefly, reminded me why I love this work.

What would you do with the $25,000?

Raising two children, I would use the $25,000 to pay down debt and create a more stable future for my family. I would also set aside part of the funds for sensory materials and classroom needs to help my students thrive.
