Learn MoreI became a teacher because I wanted to make a difference in the lives of children during some of their most important years. Watching students grow in confidence, curiosity, and kindness is incredibly rewarding. I love creating a classroom where students feel safe, supported, and excited to learn every day. I take pride in my students looking forward to coming to school.
Tell us about your most memorable teaching experienceWhen I was first asked to teach kindergarten, I wasn’t sure I could do it. The idea of teaching students who were just starting school and didn’t yet know their letters, sounds, or numbers felt overwhelming. But as the year went on, it became one of the most memorable experiences of my teaching career. Watching those same students grow from knowing very little at the beginning of the year to recognizing all their letters and sounds, writing sentences, and adding within ten was incredible.
What would you do with the $25,000?I would use the $25,000 to help pay for my wedding this year and to support my mom as she gets back on her feet after a hard time in her life. It would allow me to celebrate an important milestone in my life while also helping someone who has always supported me during a difficult time.
