Tell us why you became a teacher

I became a teacher because I’ve always been passionate about education and supporting children’s growth. I enjoy helping students build both academic skills and confidence in themselves. Teaching allows me to create a positive learning environment where students feel encouraged to ask questions, take risks, and develop a love for learning. Knowing that I can have a lasting impact on students’ lives is what motivates me to be a teacher.

Tell us about your most memorable teaching experience

One of my most memorable teaching experiences was a small moment that turned into something really powerful. I had a student who started the year very quiet and unsure of himself. He rarely raised his hand and often said “I can’t” before even trying. I made it a goal to celebrate every small success he had, whether it was completing a task, sharing an idea, or simply trying something new.

What would you do with the $25,000?

If I won the $25,000 - I would put half the money towards my sons future to use if he decides to go to college or trade school after graduation. I would also put some money towards a down payment on a house for myself, fiance and son - this would be such a huge step for my family as we would finally have our own place to continue to build our family. I also would like to put some money towards my classroom to better support my students in the sense of giving them a safe and welcoming place.
