Learn MoreI became a teacher after learning my son was recognized as intellectually disabled. The diagnostician was so blunt and lacked empathy of how this life changing news affected me and husband. So I decided to become a special education teacher. I need to be an advocate for parents like myself.
Tell us about your most memorable teaching experienceI have so many. But I would have to say my most memorable teaching moment is when a non-verbal student became verbal. She would hum the ABC song all the time until I played the Sesame Street Usher version of the ABC song and by the end of the school she was singing and talking.
What would you do with the $25,000?If I won $25,000 I would probably get some much needed sensory items for my classroom and take a much needed vacation with my family.
