Tell us why you became a teacher

I always loved learning, and every day after I got home from first grade, I would teach my younger sister everything I learned in school that day. My sister was one year younger. I had a blackboard in my bedroom and a small desk with two chairs where my sister sat. I pretended to be the teacher. I always loved the satisfaction teaching gave me when I taught my sister what I had just learned. She was not always happy about learning, but I still succeeded & loved to teach. I

Tell us about your most memorable teaching experience

My most memorable teaching experience involves seeing a student finish his novel from my advanced creative writing class and get it published. It gave me great satisfaction to see the student succeed. Knowing that I inspired that student to write and then go onto graduate school gave me great joy. He said that because of me, he loved to Wright and he loved teaching.

What would you do with the $25,000?

If I were to win $25,000 I would pay off my school loans, and I would make a down payment on a small home. Because of my small teaching salary all of these years, I’ve never been able to afford to buy my own home. It would be great to have my own place.
