Tell us why you became a teacher

I became a teacher because I wanted to positively impact the lives of students who look like me, both in the classroom and on the court. I have had some AMAZING teachers who have helped really shape and impact my journey and I wanted to pay that forward through my love of reading, writing, and basketball.

Tell us about your most memorable teaching experience

I honestly don’t have a single memorable moment. For me, it’s making connections with the students while they are in my classroom and then maintaining those connections even after they leave. I enjoy being the safe space for my students that so many of them need.

What would you do with the $25,000?

WHEW! Pay off my student loans. A down payment for a house. Continue to fund my Full Court Scholar Scholarship.
