I teach High School English, and I love it! I love getting to know my students and getting to laugh with them.

I worked as a Pharmacy Technician for 10 years until my mom passed and COVID happened. I wanted a change so I became a Paraeducator at the Quincy High School. I really loved working with the Special Needs kids and after a year, I decided to go back to school to get my teaching degree. I'm now teaching inclusion English II, and have been for 5 years!
Tell us about your most memorable teaching experienceLast year, I had 2 girls that were so sweet. I was their English teacher and their homeroom teacher so we got to see each other a lot. Towards the end of the school year, they brought me a cake and handwritten letters, saying I was their safe space. It was the first time anyone said that to me! I still cry thinking about it!
What would you do with the $25,000?It would pay off my home loan completely, and I would be able to just live a little easier with that gone. A little less stress so I can focus better for teaching! I could get ahead on my school loans with the extra money from my mortgage payments!
