Tell us why you became a teacher

I became a speech teacher because I believe communication is the foundation of connection, confidence, and independence. I am passionate about helping students find their voice, express their needs, and participate fully in their world. Supporting meaningful progress, celebrating small wins, and advocating for students makes this work deeply rewarding and purposeful.

Tell us about your most memorable teaching experience

During a session, I worked with a nonverbal kindergarten student who had limited ways to communicate and often became frustrated. While we were playing, he independently used his AAC device to request “more” for the first time. His excitement was immediate when I honored the request. From that moment, his engagement and confidence grew, reinforcing for me how powerful access to communication truly is.

What would you do with the $25,000?

If I had $25,000, I would use it to begin the most meaningful chapter of my life—starting my own family. I would invest it in creating a safe, loving, and stable home where a child could grow and thrive. It would provide peace of mind during maternity leave and ease financial stress, allowing me to be fully present, intentional, and grateful as I step into motherhood with my whole heart.
