Tell us why you became a teacher

I became a teacher because I am PASSIONATE about history. I wanted to be able to pass on that passion to younger generations. There are so many inspiring stories from the past that can help kids shape their future!

Tell us about your most memorable teaching experience

My most memorable experience was a lesson I taught on D-Day. Our focus was sacrifice. Students were given the names of soldiers who participated in the D-Day invasion. I then read off the names of those who died and those students sat down. It was very impactful, and both myself and the students became emotional in the discussion that followed. It was moving to hear them speak about the cost of freedom!

What would you do with the $25,000?

I would make a down payment on a home! My husband and I have a dream to have a little homestead one day, and that money would certainly help us!
